Helen Falls Cheek

Helen Falls Cheek November24, 1922 - October 26, 2013 Helen Falls Cheek, a native of Kings Mountain, NC, and longtime resident of Newton Grove, NC, passed away on October 26, 2013 at Brighton Gardens of Raleigh. She was the daughter of the late Arthur Lee Falls and Rella Blanton Falls. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Rev. Andy B. "Bud" Falls, Jr., and by her second husband, Rev. Hoyt Cheek.

Helen is survived by her son, Andy B. "Buddy" Falls, III, and his wife, Sandy, of Wilmington; her daughter, Kay Falls Burgess and her husband, John, of Raleigh; her daughter, Robin Falls Burnette and her husband, R.G., of Raleigh; her grandson, Scott Burgess and his wife, Melanie, of Roanoke Rapids; her grandson, Graham Burgess and his wife, Diane, of Raleigh; and her great grandchildren, Elizabeth Kaye Burgess, Elaine Gray Burgess, Dylan Burgess and Bransen Burgess.

Helen was buried at Mountain Rest Cemetery in Kings Mountain on October 30, 2013.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at Newton Grove United Methodist Church on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Wake County, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC, 27607, or to Newton Grove United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 471, Newton Grove, NC, 28366.
