DATELINE:  KINGS MOUNTAIN, NORTH CAROLINA Jacob Morgan Bridges

Jacob Morgan "Jake" Bridges, 68, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on October 4th, 2023 at home. Born in Gaston County, NC, he was the son of Kathleen Morgan Bridges and the late Benjamin Hudson Bridges Jr. Jake was preceded in death by his father, his brother Benjamin Hudson Bridges III, and grandparents Benjamin Hudson Bridges, Lillie White Bridges, Sidney Holmes Morgan, and Nannie Goodman Morgan. Jake grew up in Kings Mountain where he enjoyed his football days in junior high and high school and treasured the friends he made on those teams. He graduated in 1977 from North Carolina State, where he had a double major of horticulture and forestry. He built a business landscaping and cultivating an incredible array of plant life, work that he loved. Known for his laugh and his fierce loyalty to his friends and family, Jake was a strong Christian who lived his faith and loved to share his true born-again experience. Heeding the words that the apostle Paul wrote in Romans, Jake was "not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ."

SURVIVORS:  Mother: Kathleen Morgan Bridges of Kings Mountain Siblings: Brother, William "Bill" Bridges (Barbara) of Kings Mountain; sister-in-law Cindee Bridges of Salisbury. Jake is additionally survived by numerous nephews and a niece.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: Saturday, October 7th, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Mountain Rest Cemetery with Rev. John Bridges officiating

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery
