Jacob Kenneth Metcalf

JACOB KENNETH METCALF - Jacob Kenneth Metcalf, age 86, resident of Kings Mountain, NC passed away peacefully on May 15, 2016. He was born in Rutherford Co. NC to the late Jacob Edgar Metcalf and Lela Dixon Metcalf Bridgeman. He was also preceded in death by a brother and a sister. Mr. Metcalf retired from the textile industry and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Oak View Baptist Church, Kings Mtn. NC. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be greatly missed.

SURVIVORS: Wife of 65 years: Letha Spearman Metcalf, Kings Mtn. NC Daughters: Jackie M. Pittman and husband David, Kings Mtn. NC Vickie M. Gordon and husband Rodney, Kings Mtn. NC Sisters: Parthenia Caveny and Mevelina Vaughn Brother: Bill Metcalf 4 Grandchildren: Caren Martin, Caroline Black, Catherine McKee, Carol Gordon 3 Great Grandchildren.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Oak View Baptist Church, Wednesday, May 18, 2016 2:00 P.M. Rev. David Turner and Rev. Curtis Bundy, officiating.

VISITATION: 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Tuesday evening, May 17, 2016 at Harris Funeral Home, Kings Mountain, North Carolina

INTERMENT with Military Honors provided by the Marine Corps League Foothills Detachment: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, North Carolina
