James Austin ?Jim? Lybrand

KINGS MOUNTAIN-James Austin "Jim" Lybrand, Jr., 83, a resident of 203 N. Roxford Road, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010, at Kings Mountain Hospital. Born in Cleveland County, he was a son of the late James and Ferrie Jane Ross Lybrand Sr., member of Saint. Mattthew's Lutheran Church, Kings Mountain, a mason and member of Fairview Masonic Lodge, Kings Mountain and Gastonia-York Rite Bodies. He loved to do crossword puzzles and was an avid golfer, a charter member and past president of the Kings Mountain Jaycee's, former member of the Kings Mountain Kiwanis Club and a lifetime member of the American Legion. He served in the Navy in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. He was a very loving husband, father and grandfather. He was the retired owner of Lybrand Interiors and Lybrand Construction Co.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Louise Carpenter Lybrand, son: Jams A. "Jim" Lybrand, III and wife Lynn, Shelby, NC Daughter: Jayne L. Dowdy and husband Bradley, Blowing Rock, NC Sister: Margaret L. Navy and husband Jim, Charlotte, NC Grandchildren: Lance Austin Lybrand, Jamie Elizabeth Lybrand, Andrew Parker Dowdy, Rebecca Jayne Dowdy.
Visitation: The family will receive friends, following the service in the Fellowship Hall of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church
Funeral: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Saint Mathews Lutheran Church
Burial: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain
