James Paul Bowen, 65, of Blacksburg, SC, entered his Heavenly home on October 1, 2022 surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Cleveland County, NC, son of the late Reverend Billy Bowen and Hazel Blanton Bowen. Paul was also preceded in death by a brother, David Bowen, and his brother-in-law, Perry Nolen. Paul was a dedicated minister and member of Way of the Cross Baptist Church in Shelby. He loved Jesus, people and fishing and was eager to talk about all three.

SURVIVORS: Wife: Rebecca Bowen, of the home Sons: Jason Bowen (Christy), Georgetown, SC, Jeremy Bowen (Bobbi Walker), Shelby, NC, Bryant Vandyke (Jessica), Gastonia, NC, and John Vandyke (Martina Hauck), Durham, NC Daughters: Tara Moore (Brian), Kings Mountain, NC, and Erica Lowrance (Dean), Shelby, NC Brother: Martin Bowen (Jeanna), Gaffney, SC Sister: Denise Nolen, Kings Mountain, NC 13 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild

MEMORIAL SERVICE: Friday, October 7, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Way of the Cross Baptist Church with Pastor Robert Mote officiating

VISITATION: Friday, October 7, 2022 immediately following the service at the church
