James "J.W." "Jake" Peterson

JAMES "J.W." "JAKE" PETERSON - James "J.W." "Jake" Peterson, age 85, a resident of 109 Phifer Farm Road, Kings Mountain, NC, went to be with the Lord Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Kings Mountain Hospice House. Born in Cherokee Falls, SC, son of the late Jesse Ervin and Mamie White Peterson, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Pruitt Peterson of 36 years, and also sisters Pauline Turner and Thelma Kimble. A member of Pathways Baptist Church, and avid softball player, he loved fishing, hunting and he loved the Lord and his passion was his grandchildren and great grandchildren. After 56 years he retired from Minette Mills, Grover, NC.

Daughters: June Jenkins Phifer and husband Robert, Kings Mountain, NC Rhonda Huffstickler and husband Rocky, Charlotte, NC Brothers: Robert Peterson, Shelby, NC Thurman Peterson, Grover, NC Sisters: Alma Bolin and husband, J.D., Grover, NC Annie Mae Adams and husband A.G., Kings Mountain, NC Betty Ruth Biddix and husband Clarence, Kings Mountain, NC Shirley Philbeck and husband Bobby, Shelby, NC Grandchildren: Rodney Jenkins and Cheryl Jenkins, Kings Mtn, NC Chad Huffstickler and Rob Huffstickler, Charlotte NC.
