DATELINE: KINGS MOUNTAIN, NORTH CAROLINA Jerry Lee Bowen
Jerry Lee Bowen, born October 19, 1941 in Patterson Springs, NC, went home to be with the Lord September 24, 2023. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Jerry worked for Kings Mountain National Military Park as the Chief of Maintenance for 30 years. Jerry served in the United States Army during Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys Bowen Moss, his wife, Norma Kay Watterson Bowen, in-laws Hood and Pauline Watterson, brother, Dennis Moss, and sister, Becky Moss. He is survived by two sons, Fred Bowen (Paula) and Michael Bowen (Kristin); five grandchildren, Aaron Richardson, Nicholas Bowen, Jonathan Bowen, Norah Bowen, and Sebastian Bowen Baehr; two brothers, Quay Moss (Janie) and Wray Moss (Beth); and sister Kathy Moss Britt (Wayne). Jerry is additionally survived by several nieces and nephews; two brothers-in-law, Richard Watterson (Betty) and Bob Watterson (Ruth); and a special friend, Nell Smith.
FUNERAL SERVICE: Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel with Rev. Barry Miles and Rev. Nathan Price officiating.
VISITATION: Tuesday, September 26, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Harris Funeral Home.
INTERMENT: Grover Cemetery, Grover, NC
