Jimmy Jewell Hill
Jimmy Jewell Hill, known to friends and family as Jim, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025, at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, NC. He was born on May 11, 1943, in Clarke County, GA, to the late Guy Jewell Hill and Bertie Mae O'Kelly Hill. He was preceded in death by his beloved first wife, Selmar Goudelock Hill and his brother, Billy. Jim was a graduate of the University of Georgia where he earned his bachelors degree and was an avid fan of the Georgia Bulldogs. Jim was the proud owner of “The Tax Man,” an income tax preparation service, where his remarkable ability to recall and apply income tax laws served countless clients throughout the years. Because of his extensive knowledge of tax law, Jim was often referred to as simply, "The Tax Man". His professional journey also included many fulfilling years in retail management. A devoted member of the New Life Family Worship Center, Jim faithfully attended services for over 22 years. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, reflecting his generous spirit and dedication to his community. Outside of his professional accomplishments, Jim had a profound appreciation for the great outdoors. He could often be found walking in nature, camera in hand, capturing the beauty of the world around him. His passion for photography was a means for him to document life’s special moments, and he took pride in cultivating his yard, which featured a vibrant array of flowers and shrubbery. Above all, Jim was a loving partner, father, and grandfather. His commitment to family and friends will be cherished and remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him. Jim leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and the joy he brought to the lives of many.
