John William Decker, 55, of Shelby, NC, passed away on January 24, 2020 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.  Born in Catawba County, NC, he was the son of the late Floyd Decker.  John was employed with C & C Scrap Metals.  John was an avid sportsman and hunter, as well as a trapper. He was happiest when he was in the woods enjoying nature and wild life. He was a loving son, father,  grandfather, brother and friend.

SURVIVORS: Son:  Barry William Decker and wife/daughter-in-law, Dana Decker, Shelby, NC Mother:  Ruth Decker Cook, Kings Mountain, NC 2 Sisters:  Sherry Deal and husband Bryan, Valdese, NC and Helen Kendrick and husband Darren, Shelby, NC 4 grandchildren:  Jordan Richardson, Abbey Decker, Devon Richardson, and Layla Decker Special Nephews:  Chad Wishon and wife Heather; Wesley Clontz and wife Gabriella;  Robert Clontz Special Nieces: Kensley and Katie Kendrick

VISITATION: Monday, January 27, 2020, 6:00 PM to 8 PM, Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, NC
