DATELINE:  KINGS MOUNTAIN, NORTH CAROLINA Johnie McKinney Johnie McKinney, 88, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on September 02, 2020 at Atrium Cleveland in Shelby, NC. He was born in Cleveland County, NC, to the late Robert Elam and Mamie Hamrick McKinney and was preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters. He was also preceded in death by two grandchildren, Sophia Allen and Adam Rogers and a son-in-law, Dennis Stroup. Johnie was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed watching and listening to gospel music. He was an avid Nascar fan and loved watching old westerns on television. Johnie enjoyed being outdoors and loved hunting and fishing. He was a loving father to his children and grandfather to his many grandchildren.
