NAME: JOHNNY RAY SHORT

- Johnny Ray Short, age 81, resident of Kings Mountain, died July 5, 2016 at Carolinas Medical Center – Main. Born in Gaston County, he was the son of the late Joseph Short and Irene Hannah Short. He was preceded in death by two sons, Donald Ray Short and Johnny Ray Short, Jr. and one sister Frances Short. He was retired from the textile industry.

SURVIVORS: Wife : Thelma D. Short, Kings Mountain, NC;

Sons: Billy Joe Short (Sally), Kings Mtn; Ronald Eugene

Short (Donna), Grover,NC;

Daughters: Violet Lattimore (Ronnie), Kings Mountain; Frances Towery (Ronnie), Betty Jane Wright (Roger), Shelby, NC

23 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

Step Children: Shelia Chastain, Ronnie Gosnell, Danny Gosnell, Cathy Stacey, Bobby Gosnell, Johnny Gosnell, and Joyce Cody

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: Friday, July 8 4:00 PM, Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, NC with Rev. Doug Clubb officiating.

VISITATION: 2:00 PM -3:30 prior to the service at Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel, Kings Mountain

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, NC
