Joyce Lovelace Babb, 92, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on May 18, 2025 at White Oak Manor Shelby in Shelby, NC. She was born May 15, 1933 in Cleveland County, NC, daughter of the late Zeno and Eunice Connor Lovelace and was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Ed Babb and her sister, Brenda Lovelace Stowe. Joyce was a longtime member of David Baptist Church where she enjoyed playing the piano and singing. She worked in the banking industry and spent many years working as a teller at Home Federal Savings and Loan. Joyce was a people person and was very outgoing. She never met a stranger and could talk with anyone about any topic. She loved spending time with her friends out eating, especially at Swooger's. Joyce had a heart for people and was kind to everyone. Her sense of humor could lighten the most somber mood. She loved to make people laugh, and if you were near Joyce, it would not be long until the laughing started. Joyce enjoyed spending time with people, especially her family whom she loved with all her heart. She was a dedicated mother and sister and loving grandmother to 3 generations of grandchildren. Her kindness, spirit and strength will be missed by everyone who knew Joyce.

SURVIVORS: Children: Darrell Whetstine (Wanda), Kenneth Babb, and Denise Whetstine Sessoms (Don), all of Kings Mountain, NC Brother: Gerald Lovelace (Sonyia), KIngs Mountain, NC Grandchildren: Brian Whetstine (Ashley), Christy Whetstine Campbell (Vince), Chad Whetstine (Tabitha), Lori Kistler (Mike), Shane Sessoms (Amy), and Kelly Peppers Great Grandchildren: Hayden Whetstine (Brianna), Samantha and Jacob Whetstine, Dr. Ridge Scruggs, Savannah Peppers, and Garrett, Georgia, Scarlett Sessoms, Dallas and Brody Campbell, and Bodhi and Bexley Whetstine and Seth Kistler

FUNERAL SERVICE: Thursday, May 22, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel

VISITATION: Thursday, May 22, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:50 PM prior to the service at Harris Funeral Home

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, NC
