She was born in Mecklenburg Co, NC to the late James William Dowell and Minnie Lou Early Dowell. She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Mrs. Grimes was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all. She enjoyed spending all of her time with her family. She was retired from BellSouth, Charlotte, NC.
SURVIVORS: Husband of 47 years: Donald "Don" Eugene Grimes, Jr., Kings Mtn.
Son: Donnie Grimes and fiancAC. Nicole Robbins, Kings Mtn.
Daughters: Leslie Grimes, Gastonia; Dana Grimes, Cherryville; Heather Grimes and fiancAC. Phillip Mosier, Cherryville; Shellie Grimes, Kings Mtn.
Brothers: Ronald Dowell and Conroe Dowell, both of Gastonia.
Sisters: Martha Goins, York, SC and Lucille Moore, Gastonia.
10 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren.
FUNERAL SERVICE: Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel, Wednesday, June 26, 2013 2:00 P.M. Rev. Sam Barnette, officiating.
VISITATION: 12:30 - 1:30 P.M. Wednesday, June 26, 2013 prior to the service at Harris Funeral Home, Kings Mountain, NC
INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, North Carolina
