DATELINE: KINGS MOUNTAIN, NORTH CAROLINA
Kenneth "Ken" Brown Randall
Kenneth “Ken” Brown Randall, 87, passed away peacefully at home on June 16, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on August 3, 1938, in Cleveland County, Ken lived a life marked by hard work, unwavering kindness, and deep love for his family, friends, and community. He was the son of the late Marvin and Bessie Randall. In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his two brothers, Howard Randall and Dewitt Randall, and his sister, Martha Nance. Ken was a lifelong member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, where his faith and servant’s heart were evident throughout his life. He proudly served his country in the Army National Guard. He began his career at J.E. Herndon Company and later dedicated 21 years of service to Freightliner before retiring. A true friend to everyone who knew him, Ken had a gift for making people feel welcome and valued. He was always ready with a warm smile, a kind word, or a helping hand. Whether assisting a neighbor, encouraging a friend, or supporting his family, Ken treated everyone with compassion, respect, and kindness. He found happiness in life’s simple blessings—farming, sharing stories and laughter with friends, and spending precious time with the people he loved most. Above all, Ken treasured the life he shared with his beloved wife, Nell. Together they built a beautiful marriage filled with love, companionship, and countless memories over 33 wonderful years.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Nell Randall; his children, Dwayne Cannon (Michelle), Eric Cannon (Donna), Amy Reeves (Marshall), Darryl Cannon (Jamie), David Cannon (Lisa), and Alan Cannon (Ann). He also leaves behind a special nephew and niece, Kevin and Susie Randall; a special niece, Toni Putman; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him tremendous pride and joy.
Ken’s faithful little companion, Louie, his beloved Chihuahua, remained by his side and held a special place in his heart.
Ken will be remembered for his gentle spirit, steadfast faith, strong work ethic, and the example he set for those around him. He never met a stranger, and his generosity, wisdom, and genuine love for others left a lasting impression on all who knew him. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched and in the values of kindness, humility, and devotion that he passed on to those he loved.
Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find comfort in knowing that Ken’s life was one well-lived, his love well-shared, and his memory will forever remain a blessing to all who knew him.
“A life that touches others goes on forever.”
