Kimberly McDaniel Houston

O February 10, 2026, Kimberly McDaniel Houston's eyes closed and she danced into eternity with her Lord and Savior. She knew she was finally home! Kimberly, 45, was born June 13, 1980 in Cleveland County, NC, to Larry and Ann Putnam McDaniel and was preceded in death by her grandparents Hoyle and Lydia Putnam and Dot and Dennis McDaniel. Kimberly loved Christ and people, and her life was a testament to that fact. After graduating from Kings Mountain High School and then Appalachian State University, she spent her career serving in the mental health field, most recently working for more than a decade at Partners Health Management.

A lifelong member of Patterson Grove Baptist Church, Kimberly accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was always mission-minded, having done outreach work numerous times both close to home and abroad. She served as the Acteens leader for several generations of girls growing up at Patterson Grove, where she educated, facilitated trips and events, and formed lifetime bonds.

Kimberly was a great cook. She showed her care for others not just in preparing meals for them, but by memorizing their favorites and anticipating their requests. She was a joyful soul with a magnetic personality and an infectious laugh. She was a loving mother, a devoted wife, and a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Kimberly's servant heart shone through in everything she did and although she will be missed dearly by her friends and family, everyone who knew and loved her is better for it.

Son: Keyon Houston, of the home

Parents: Larry and Ann McDaniel, of Kings Mountain

Siblings: Lee McDaniel (Michelle) of Belen, NM and Cale McDaniel (Jada) of Kings Mountain

Kimberly is also survived by her beloved nephews Ryan McDaniel, Derek McDaniel, Bryson McDaniel, Stetson McDaniel, and niece Lucianna McDaniel.

CELEBRATION OF LIFE: Sunday, February 22, 2026 at 4:00 P.M. at Patterson Grove Baptist Church with Revs. David Webb and Brad Bridges officiating

VISITATION: Sunday, February 22, 2026, prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:50 P.M. at Patterson Grove Baptist Church

INTERMENT: Patterson Grove Baptist Church Cemetery
