KINGS MOUNTAIN-L. Roy Ramsey, 75, of 908 First St., passed away June 23, 2010 at his home.
Born in York County, S.C., he was the son of the late Leslie Everette and Gracie Harlow Ramsey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Michael Tesseneer and a brother, Everette Leslie Ramsey.
Bishop of Macedonia Community Holiness Church, he was host for over 21 years, along with Pastor Lucille Smith of the Macedonia Community Holiness Church Hour radio program on Sunday's from 2 to 3 p.m. at WKMT, Kings Mountain and on Tuesday's and Thursday's, he and Pastor Smith were the radio hosts of the Gospel Lighthouse, at WCSL, Cherryville.
He worked in the textile industry.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa Earl, sons; Mike Ramsey and Ricky Ramsey of Lenoir, brothers; Eugene Ramsey (Dorothy) of Gastonia, George Ramsey, of Kings Mountain; grandchildren; Melissa Ramsey, Chris Ramsey, Little Ricky Ramsey, Brandy Ramsey, Joshua Tesseneer, Krista Earwood, Annagrace Earwood, and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation: The family will receive friends Friday, June 25, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Harris Funeral Home, and other times at the home, 908 First St., Kings Mountain.
Funeral: Saturday, June 26, 2 p.m. Macedonia Community Holliness Church, York, S.C.
Interment: Macedonia Community Holliness Chruch Cemetery
