Laura Sue (Ware) Belk

DATELINE:  KINGS MOUNTAIN, NORTH CAROLINA Laura Sue Belk Laura Sue Belk, 91, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on July 21, 2022 at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby, NC. She was born in Cleveland County, NC, daughter of the late Ben and Sallie Carroll Ware and was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Henry Young "H.Y." Belk. Laura was also preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly Faucette, 2 brothers, Hershel and Bill Ware, and 3 sisters, Ailene Costner, Lelar Owens, and Estelle Sanders. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church for more than 30 years and worked in textiles and as a teacher's aid at North Elementary School. Laura enjoyed gardening, spending time working outdoors in the yard, and loving on her beloved cats and dogs. She was an exemplary Christian woman and an inspiration to her family and friends. Laura enjoyed spending time with those she loved the most, her family. Her guidance and love will be missed dearly by everyone who knew and loved her. SURVIVORS: Children: Linda Sue Belk and James Brian Belk of Kings Mountain, NC Grandchildren: Brandy Lee Stroupe (Joel) and Luke Tyler Thompson of Kings Mountain, NC Great Grandchildren: Jacob Evan Stroupe (Katie), Crowders Mountain, NC and Jesse Lee Stroupe, Kings Mountain, NC Great-Great Grandchildren: Kinslee, Joelee, and Kacey Stroupe Sister: Hazel Reynolds, Kings Mountain, NC The family will have a Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Eastside Baptist Church with Reverend Ron Caulder officiating. They will speak with attendees immediately following the service at the church.
