DATELINE: SHELBY, NORTH CAROLINA Lillian Lovelace Harmon Rogers Lillian Lovelace Harmon Rogers, 90, of Shelby, NC, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at Atrium Health Cleveland in Shelby, NC. She was born in Cleveland County, NC, daughter of the late Oscar Freddie and Arcie Bell Lovelace and was preceded in death by her first husband of 48 years, William Brunson Harmon, and her second husband of 13 years, Robert Hamer Rogers Jr. Lillian was also preceded in death by her brother, Billy Basil Lovelace. She was a former member of Oak Grove Baptist Church for more than 70 years where she was very active. After her marriage to Mr. Rogers, Lillian joined Central United Methodist Church in Shelby, where she continued to be very active. She taught Sunday School at both Oak Grove and Central UMC for many years and loved being a part of the church community. Lillian worked in personnel in the textile industry most of her life. She enjoyed staying active and spending time with those she loved most, her family and friends. Her kindness, guidance, and love will be missed dearly by everyone who knew Lillian.
