Lillie "Billie" Blanton

LILLIE "BILLIE" BLANTON - Lillie "Billie" Blanton, age 95 formerly of Kings Mountain, NC and Shelby, NC passed away peacefully on April 16, 2016 at Carrington Place, Matthews, NC. She was born in Cleveland Co., NC to the late Charles Kennedy and Mary Boone Kennedy. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Edward "Jack" Blanton; son, Edward Blanton, Jr.; and sisters, Evelena Herndon and Nancy Gunning. Mrs. Blanton graduated with Honors from Kings Mountain High School. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church, Shelby, NC. She was recently affiliated with Pineville United Methodist Church, Pineville, NC. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed collecting and traveling with her husband.

SURVIVORS: Daughters: Jackie Powell and husband Jim, Pineville, NC Patsy Ledford and husband Eddie, Shelby, NC Sister: Martha Ann McDonald, Vero Beach, FL 9 Grandchildren: Eddie Blanton, III, Charles Chumley, Christopher Blanton, Johnathan Wilson, Donna Rybicky, Daniel Wilson, Rebecca LeGrady, Eddie Ledford, Jr. and Kylie Kidd. 2 Step-Grandchildren: Amanda Powell and Richard Powell. 24 Great Grandchildren, 4 Step Great Grandchildren. 2 Great Great Grandchildren and 1 to come soon.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: Mountain Rest Cemetery Saturday, April 23, 2016 1:00 P.M. Rev. Eric Lanier, officiating.

VISITATION: 12:00 - 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 23, 2016 prior to the service at Harris Funeral Home, Kings Mountain, North Carolina
