Linda Kathleen (Smith) Humphries

DATELINE:  KINGS MOUNTAIN, NORTH CAROLINA Linda S. Humphries Linda S. Humphries, 72, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on August 15, 2019 at Carolina Caring Hospice in Newton, NC. She was born in Corry, PA, to the late Robert Akam Smith and Velma Bigelow Smith and was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Robert Wendell Humphries. She was also preceded in death by a step-son, Gary Humphries, a grandson Brandon Quintero, and her beloved canine companion Puffin. Linda was a retired teacher, serving over 30 years with Kings Mountain School District and Cleveland County School District. She served as a teacher at East and Bethware Elementary Schools. Linda was a member of Boyce Memorial ARP Church where she was very active and has served as a Sunday School teacher. She took pride in being a very independent person who loved to travel. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. Linda will be missed dearly by all those who loved her. Rob Patrick officiating VISITATION: Tuesday, August 20, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Harris Funeral Home INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery
