DATELINE:  LAWNDALE, NORTH CAROLINA Lindsey (Short) Newton Rector Lindsey (Short) Newton Rector, 78, of Lawndale, NC, passed away on November 19, 2019 at Atrium Cleveland in Shelby. He was born in Alexander County, NC, and was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. Short was a wonderful man and a loving partner. He enjoyed going to gospel singing's and dancing. Short liked to travel and especially loved the mountains. He was a simple man who will be remembered by his signature overhauls that he wore everyday.
