Louise  Wright McSwain

Louise Wright McSwain, 90, of Kings Mountain, NC, went to be with the Lord on July 10, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Cleveland County, North Carolina, daughter of the late Travis and Lois Hovis Wright and was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Luther R. McSwain Jr. a daughter, Libby Lovelace, her brother, Herman Wright, sisters, Lillie Mae Jones and Myrtha Philbeck, and a son-in-law, Mike Patrick. Louise was a member of David Baptist Church for more than 70 years and had the distinction of being the oldest living member of the church. She worked as a telephone operator and retired from Bell South. Louise was always an active person who enjoyed being on the go. No matter if it was a trip to the store or a week long vacation, Louise was always ready to go. She had a passion for sewing and enjoyed making beautiful quilts. Louise was a talented doll maker and a dedicated homemaker. She had a servants heart and enjoyed caring for others. Louise was the epitome of Proverbs 31, a virtuous woman. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend whose memory and life lessons will live on in the hearts of all those she touched for a lifetime.

SURVIVORS: Children: Mark O. McSwain and wife Tina, Winston Salem, NC and Carolyn R. Patrick, Kings Mountain, NC

Sisters: Sarah Queen and husband Bill and Jane Summitt

Grandchildren: Missy Wiggins, Dwayne Wiggins, Christopher Patrick and wife Kelly, and Ryan McSwain and wife Marla

Great Grandchildren: Lacy Wiggins, Emily Wiggins, Lydia Patrick, and Abby Patrick

FUNERAL SERVICE: Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 1:00 PM at David Baptist Church with Reverends Brian Taule and Jody Griffin officiating

VISITATION: Saturday, July 20, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:50 PM prior to the service in the sanctuary of David Baptist Church

INTERMENT: David Baptist Church Cemetery, Kings Mountain, NC
