MARGARET ROPER PAYNE
Margaret Roper Payne, 91 of Kings Mountain, NC, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on September 10, 2017 at Carolina Care, Cherryville, NC. Born in Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late William Ivey Roper and Mamie King Roper. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Lee Addison Payne, sisters Lorena Falls, Ivery Nolen, Mary Pearson, Mildred Shytle, and brothers William Roper, Jr., Paul Roper, James Roper, Nelson Roper and Mike Roper. Margaret was a member of First Wesleyan Church, Kings Mountain, NC. She was a very strong prayer warrior, a dedicated Christian which was exemplified in her daily walk. She was a loving mother, mamaw, aunt, and friend. She enjoyed gardening, cooking/baking and embroidery.

3 Grandchildren: Jada Dawes, New Holland, OH; Summer Self and husband Mike, Cherryville, NC; Jordan Williams and husband Caleb, Kings Mountain, NC , Great-grandchildren: Laura Leigh, William Michael, Brody Addison, Emily Mikayla, Caitlin Delk, and husband Jordan, Baylee Rae and Marlee Kate.
FUNERAL SERVICE: First Wesleyan Church, Wednesday, September 13, 2017 3:00 PM, officiated by Rev. Don WIlliams
VISITATION: 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Harris Funeral Home prior to the service. At other times the family will be at the home of the daughter, Cathy Crisp, 212 Countryside Rd., Kings Mountain, NC.
INTERNMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, NC
