Marguerite Eileen Cowles

MARGUERITE EILEEN COWLES - Marguerite Eileen Cowles, age 101, of Kings Mountain passed away at Kings Mountain Hospital on November 16, 2016. She was born in Macksburg, IA to the late Don Lesslie Slaybaugh and Etna Spangler Slaybaugh. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Clinton Cowles; daughter, Ruth Eileen DeJerld and brother, Estell Slaybaugh. She was a retired teacher and attended First Baptist Church, Kings Mtn. NC. She was a missionary in the Bayou and in Algeirs, Louisiana along with her husband. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, sewing, gardening, and birdwatching. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

SURVIVORS: Daughter: Rose C. Turner, Kings Mtn. NC 5 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren.

FUNERAL SERVICE: First Baptist Church, Kings Mtn. NC Saturday, November 19, 2016 11:00 A.M. Dr. John Sloan, officiating.

VISITATION: 9:30 - 10:30 A.M. Saturday, November 19, 2016 prior to the service in the Stained Glass room at First Baptist Church, Kings Mtn. North Carolina other times at the home.

INTERMENT: Westview Gardens, Bessemer City, North Carolina
