Marie "Mert" (Black) Mabry

DATELINE:  KINGS MOUNTAIN, NORTH CAROLINA Rhoda Marie "Mert" Mabry Rhoda Marie Mabry, 84, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on July 11, 2021 at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, NC. She was born in Cherokee County, SC, daughter of the late Coy Eugene and Sallie Louise Moore Black and was preceded in death by husband of more than forty years, Lee Edward Mabry. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Chad Smith, a brother, Calvin Black and her sisters, Goldie Owensby, Shirley Owens, Jean Detter, Joyce Styers, and Alma Heffner. Mert was of the Christian faith. She spent most of her lifetime as a homemaker and enjoyed reading and sewing. Mert loved her family and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren, who were the center of her world. Her love, kindness, and guidance will be missed greatly by her family and everyone who knew and loved her.
