Mary Helen (Melton) Mcabee

DATELINE:  KINGS MOUNTAIN, NORTH CAROLINA Mary Helen Melton McAbee Mary Helen Melton McAbee, 85, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away peacefully on February 07, 2020. She was born in Rutherford County, NC, to the late Baxter C. and Hanna M. Dixon Melton and was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Brooks "Mac" McAbee. She was also preceded in death by her son, Dennis Brooks McAbee, a grandson Damon Patrick Crane, her brothers; Randall Dixon, Harry Melton, Tom Melton, Billy "Bug" Melton and Bud Dixon, her sister, Lillian Harrison and her beloved canine companion, Tiny. Helen worked in textiles most of her life. She was a longtime member of Second Baptist Church. Helen enjoyed being at home, keeping house and spending time with her family. She loved cooking and making small origami flowers. Helen was a wonderful, devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be missed dearly by her loving family.
