Mary Gore Wood

MARY GORE WOOD - Mary Gore Wood, age 89 resident of Kings Mountain, NC passed away peacefully December 15, 2016 at Testa Family Hospice House, Kings Mtn. NC. She was born on April 30, 1927 in York Co, SC to the late William "Mike" Wells and Sue Ellen Toney Wells. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy Wood; brothers, Bethel Wells and Bill Wells; sister, Nellie Wells Godfrey; and granddaughter, Jennifer Gore Friday. Mrs. Wood was the oldest member of East Gold Street Wesleyan Church, Kings Mtn. NC. She was retired from Spectrum Yarns, Kings Mtn. NC and previously worked as receptionist at the Kings Mountain Herald. Grandma Mary was a wonderful, loving, patient mother and grandmother who always showed everyone unconditional love. She enjoyed crocheting and spending time with all of her precious grandchildren.

NC Boyce Wells and wife Helen, Kings Mtn. NC Toney Wells and wife Martha, Kings Mtn. NC Sisters: Betty Johnson, Kings Mtn. NC Shirley Holshouser and husband Harvey, Charlotte, NC 8 Grandchildren, 25 Great Grandchildren and 7 Great Great Grandchildren.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel, Sunday, December 18, 2016 2:00 P.M. Manfred G. Martin, officiating.

VISITATION: 12:30 - 1:30 P.M. Sunday, December 18, 2016 prior to the service at Harris Funeral Home, Kings Mountain, North Carolina

INTERMENT: Bethany ARP Church Cemetery, Clover, South Carolina
