Mary Ellen Davis, 92, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on February 25, 2024 at Peak Resources in Gastonia, NC. She was born in Cleveland County, NC, daughter of the late Clarence and Thelma Ross Watterson and was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Norman Davis and her sister, Valiree W. Carroll. Mary Ellen retired from Kings Mountain District Schools while serving in the cafeteria. She was a longtime member of Kings Mountain Baptist Church. She loved visiting and taking church groups to South Mountain Baptist Camp every year for 50 years. Mary Ellen enjoyed fishing with Norman, sewing, and growing beautiful flowers. However, she was always happiest when she was near her family. She always placed them at the center of her life. Mary Ellen was never seen when she was not smiling and always had a joyful and uplifting spirit. She was a wonderful mother, friend, and grandmother to several generations of grandchildren. Mary Ellen will be missed greatly by everyone whose life she impacted.

SURVIVORS: Children: Rebekah Davis Greene, Emma Jean Davis, Norma Davis Moose (Barry), and P. Jason Davis (Melissa), all of Kings Mountain, NC

Grandchildren: Leslie Mayes (Charles), Nicole Paulson (Rodney), Jamie Canipe (Jenny), Chuck Canipe (Lisa), Taylor Davis, and Alexia Moose

Great Grandchildren: JoDawn, Julie, Erin, Alley, Abby, Brandon, Maverick, MacKenzie, Isaac, and Caleb

Great-Great Grandchildren: Eddley, Kaytlin, Hunter, Jacob, Sommer, Noah, Issac, Sydney, Holly, and Henry

FUNERAL SERVICE: Thursday, February 29, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel with Pastors Olin Byrum and Tim Whitesides officiating

VISITATION: Wednesday, February 28, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Harris Funeral Home

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, NC
