Meredith "Nanny" Rome Scott, 79, of Grover, NC, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on January 19, 2021 at the home of her daughter. Nanny was born at home in Cleveland County, NC, daughter of the late Taylor and Alliesue Hoppes Rome and was preceded in death by her brother, Ernest Rome and her husband of thirty-two years, Charles Scott. She was a faithful and dedicated Christian. Nanny loved Bluegrass music and enjoyed attending the Country Jam in Blacksburg with her brother Ernest. She looked forward to visiting with her friends every Friday during her weekly visit to the beauty shop. Nanny retired from the textile industry where she was always proud of the work she did as a knitter and threader for many years. She was a strong woman who possessed a never give up attitude and continued to fight until the Lord called her home. Nanny was a loving mother, sister and grandmother who cherished the time she spent with her family. Her strength, loving and forgiving spirit will be missed greatly by everyone who knew and loved Nanny.

VISITATION: Saturday, January 30, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM in the parlor of Harris Funeral Home
