Mildred Layton Ferguson

MILDRED LAYTON FERGUSON -Mildred Layton Ferguson, age 88, resident of Gastonia, NC died November 26, 2011 at her home. She was born on July 4, 1923 in Cleveland Co. NC to the late John L. Layton and Mary Elizabeth Cashion Layton Bailey. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Roy Haskell Ferguson, Jr.; Brothers, John Layton, Jr., Arthur Bailey; Sisters, Mary Francis Bailey, Sally Whitworth, Ellen Denham, Beatrice Falls, and Aileen McGinnis. Mildred was a beloved sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a virtuous woman full of love, wisdom, and kindness. She was always generous with her time to help her family. Fun-loving; her family has many treasured memories of times spent together. She loved others with all her heart, and was loved in return. She lived her life well. She was a member in long standing of First Baptist Church, Gastonia, NC We will miss her enormously, but are thankful to Our Lord for allowing us to have this precious woman for as long as we did.

SURVIVORS: Daughters: Carolyn Lovelace and husband Steve, Kings Mtn. NC Rosemary Dingman and husband Les, San Antonio, TX Son: Roy H. Ferguson, III and wife Kelly, Beaverton, OR Sister: Dorothy McKenzie 10 Grandchildren: Jason Starnes, Eric Starnes, Amy Rivera, Gary Dingman, Don Land, Heather Dingman, Matt Dingman, Todd Dingman, Jeanette Ferguson, and Penny Dowda. 17 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchildren.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Patterson Grove Baptist Church, Saturday, December 3, 2011 2:00 P.M. Dr. Tim Hendrick and Dr. Ray Ammons, officiating.

VISITATION: 1:00 - 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 3, 2011 prior to the service in the Sanctuary of Patterson Grove Baptist Church.

INTERMENT: Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia, North Carolina A private family graveside will be held Sunday, December 4, 2011
