MILES SCISM - Gettus Miles Scism, age 77, a resident of 218 Oak Grove Road, Kings Mountain, North Carolina, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family. A devoted husband, father and grandfather who was born in Cleveland County, North Carolina, son of the late Gettys B. and Pearl Foster Scism. He was also preceded in death sister, Sue Hughes. A member of Patterson Grove Baptist Church, Kings Mountain were he was a former Deacon and Sunday School teacher. He served in the US Army. His business of 30 years, Scism Body Shop, along with his teaching at Cleveland Community College was his gift. He loved to garden and loved his church and church family. SURVIVORS: Wife of 52 years, Dora Lee Carringer Scism, Kings Mountain, NC Daughter: Brenda S. Lowery and husband Wayne Lewis "Butch" Lowery, Kings Mountain, NC Brother: William Gene Scism and wife Eleanor, Kings Mountain, NC Brother-in-law: Erwin Hughes, Greer, SC Grandchildren: Ezra Lowery, O'Brian Hayes. Great-Grandchild: Autumn Hayes.
