Mitch Norris

June 11, 1931 — November 30, 2015

MITCH NORRIS - Mitch Norris, age 84 resident of Kings Mountain, NC entered his heavenly home on November 30, 2015 at his home. He was born in Horry Co, SC to the late Javie and Martha Lewis Norris. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Myrtle Lee Carter and Retha Jackson. Mr. Norris was an active member for over 60 years of Family Worship Center, Church of God where he held many positions including, Deacon, Elder, and Trustee. He retired from management at Anvil Knit after 40 years of service and served in the United States Marines. Classic Cars and being a member of the Mountaineer Cruisers was his passion. He always enjoyed spending time with his friends at the McDonald's coffee club. Mr. Norris was a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed by his family and community.

SURVIVORS: Wife of 65 years: Maude C. Norris, Kings Mtn. NC Sons: Jim Norris and wife Lorraine, Kings Mtn. NC Bryan Norris and wife Bea, Cincinnati, OH Brothers: Norman Norris and wife Susie, Macon, GA Lonnie Norris and wife Marilyn, Tyler, OR Sisters: Betty Butler and husband Ted, Marion, SC Dorothy Bell Spell, Laurinburg, NC Judy Stambought and husband Joe, Hope Mills, NC 4 Grandchildren: Shana Zwick and husband Mike; Chris Norris and wife Ragan; Lance Norris and wife Sarah; and Brooks Norris and wife Rachel. 8 Great Grandchildren: Lea, Lydi, Kathryn, Jace, Clay, Anna Grace, Abby, and Brooklyn. FUNERAL SERVICE: Family Worship Center, Church of God, Thursday, December 3, 2015 1:00 P.M. Bishop Roger Woodard, Pastor Chris Norris, and Rev. Jay Hardy; Pastor of Church of God of Prophecy, Belton, SC

VISITATION: 11:30 - 1:00 P.M. Thursday, December 3, 2015 prior to the service in the Sanctuary of Family Worship Center, Church of God.

INTERMENT with Full Military Honors provided by the Marine Corps League, Foothills Detachment: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, North Carolina
