Myrle M. King

Myrle M. King, 83, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on January 8, 2026 at home. Born November 8, 1942 in Cleveland County, NC, she was the daughter of the late John Henry Moore and Austine Chambers Moore. Myrle was also preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Roy Fulton King, son Roy Dwaine King, brother Johnny Moore, Jr., and sisters Mildred Rayfield and Mary Jane Moore. She attended Tryon School and was of great assistance to her parents in raising her siblings. Myrle was a charter member and faithful attendee at Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church. She enjoyed going camping and horseback riding. Myrle had a passion and talent for working outside and gardening. She was a gracious hostess and wouldn't dream of letting a guest leave the house without having something to eat. Myrle placed the utmost value on her family and spent as much time as she could with them. She was "everybody's mother," always looking after children with joy. Myrle was a loving mother, sister, a devoted wife, and a doting Grannie to all of her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her warmth, care, and tender love will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

SURVIVORS: Sons: Eric King (Cindy) of Kings Mountain and Jeffrey Daryl King (Kim) of Rutherfordton, NC

Sisters: Barbara Jones (David) of Kings Mountain, Kay Proctor of Kings Mountain, and Julia Mintz (Sam) of Gastonia

Grandchildren: Brandon King, Chaz King (Jeanne), Clayton King, Jordan King, Erica Sutton (Shawn), Tyler King, Christian King (Cassi), and Austin King (fiancée Gabby)

Great-grandchildren: Mattic King, Ian King, Leilani King, Everett Sutton, Emmett Sutton, Elliott Sutton, Colt King, Cooper King, and Dakota King

Myrle is also survived by many nieces, great-nieces, nephews, and great-nephews who meant the world to her.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Sunday, January 11, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church with Revs. Greg Neely and Josh Vernon officiating

VISITATION: Sunday, January 11, 2026, prior to the service from 1:00 to 1:50 P.M.

INTERMENT: Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery, Kings Mountain, North Carolina
