KINGS MOUNTAIN - Nancy "Nell" Laughridge, 78, former resident of Georgetown Apartments, died Friday, March 19, 2010 at Wendover Hospice in Shelby.
She was born in Cleveland County and was the daughter of the late Phillip Calvin Howell and Mary Dixon Howell.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son; Victor Laughridge; brother, Fred Howell and grandson, Jason David Laughridge.
She was a member of Laurel Wood Ministries in Bessemer City and worked in the textile industry and as caregiver to the elderly. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend.
Surviving are two sons; Barry Laughridge and wife, Martha, of Grover, Scott Laughridge and wife, Tracey, of Kings Mountain; a daughter, Anita Friday and husband, Dwayne, of Kings Mountain; a brother, James Howell of Wichita Falls, Tex.; a sister Ruby Howell Overland and husband, Gene, of Oak Island; eight grandchildren, Sean Laughridge, Crystal Arthurs, Tyler Laughridge, Lindsey Laughridge, Sydney Friday, Abbey Friday, Amelia Friday and Ryan Laughridge; four great-grandchildren, Taylor Arthurs, Brandon Laughridge, Alana Laughridge and Izabella Laughridge.

Visitation: The family will receive friends Sunday, March 21, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Harris Funeral Home in Kings Mountain and other times at the home of the daughter, 125 Candlewood Dr., Kings Mountain.
Funeral: Monday, March 22, 11 a.m., Laurel Wood Ministries, 124 Gamble Loop Road, Bessemer City
