Ophelia Philips Humphries

Ophelia Phillips Humphries, 91, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on February 20, 2024 at Country Time Inn in Kings Mountain, NC. She was born in Cleveland County, NC, daughter of the late Lester and Loney Hill Phillips and was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Humphries, her siblings, AG Phillips and Edna Thomas, a grandson. Kenneth Hale, and a great grandson, Bobby Hale. Ophelia was of the Baptist faith. She worked in textiles most of her life. She also enjoyed selling at the local flea markets for many years. She was affectionately known as the "Pillow Lady" by many people because of the beautiful pillows and knickknacks she sold. Ophelia was an avid animal lover and enjoyed spending time with her many pets throughout the years. She also enjoyed traveling, especially to the mountains. Ophelia was a wonderful woman whose kindness, love, and friendship will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved her.

Grandchildren: Billy Hale, Robert Hale, Kim Hale, Karen Hamilton (Jerry), and Barbara Furr (Scottie)

FUNERAL SERVICE: Friday, February 23, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel

VISITATION: Friday, February 23, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:50 PM prior to the service at Harris Funeral Home

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, NC
