Patricia Nestlerode Beam

Patricia Nestlerode Beam, 76, of Shelby, NC, passed away on May 15, 2024 at Atrium Health Cleveland in Shelby, NC. She was born in McKeesport, PA, daughter of the late John Herbert and Dorothy Kaler Nestlerode and was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Edwin Hugh Beam, her son, John Elwood Beam, a sister, Barbara McMahon and a sister-in-law, Aleta Nestlerode. Patricia worked as a secretary most of her life and retired from the Shelby Star in a clerical position. She grew up in the Catholic faith and was a former member of Lafayette Street Methodist Church. Patricia enjoyed staying active sewing, crocheting, and doing cross stitch. She was an avid animal lover, often feeding stray cats from the neighborhood and the occasional opossum. She also had a love for the North Carolina Mountains where she enjoyed frequent hiking trips and picnicking along the many trails. Patricia was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

Grandchildren: Cameron, Kelsey, and Amber Sheriff

FUNERAL SERVICE: Monday, May 20, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel with Reverend Perry Hines officiating

VISITATION: Monday, May 20, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:50 AM prior to the service in the parlor of Harris Funeral Home

INTERMENT: Cleveland Memorial Park, Shelby, NC
