PEGGY SMITH HORD GLADDEN - Peggy Smith Hord Gladden, age 83, resident of 704 Jackson Street, Kings Mountain, NC died June 30, 2011 at White Oak Manor, Kings Mtn. NC She was born in Catawba Co, NC to the late Arthur Ray and Vertie Houston Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, the late John W. Gladden, Jr. and the late Joe Lawrence Hord, Sr. and her brother, Paul Smith. She was an active member of First Baptist Church, Kings Mtn. where she sang in the choir/Senior Adult Choir. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a homemaker.

SURVIVORS: Son: Joe Lawrence Hord, Jr., Kings Mtn. NC Daughter: Lisa Hord Batchler and husband Scott, Grover, NC Brothers: Houston Smith, Kings Mtn. NC Bob Smith, Kings Mtn. NC 1 Grandchild: Kristen Batchler.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: Sunday, July 3, 2011 Mountain Rest Cemetery, 2:30 P.M. Dr. John Sloan, officiating.

VISITATION: 12:30 - 2:00 P.M. Sunday afternoon, July 3, 2011 prior to the service at Harris Funeral Home, Kings Mtn. NC

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, North Carolina
