PHILIP A. LAWSON, SR. - Philip A. Lawson, Sr., age 87, resident of 1240 Second Street Kings Mountain, NC died May 29, 2012 at Carolina's Medical Center, Charlotte, NC. He was born in Jonesville, VA to the late Dillard B. Lawson and Ada Phillips Lawson. He was also preceded in death by 3 brothers and 1 sister. Mr. Lawson was retired from Sadie Mills, Kings Mtn. NC after 20 years of service. He served in the United States Navy during World War II on the USS Blackhawk in the Pacific Theatre.

SURVIVORS: Wife of 65 A½ years: Betty Moses Lawson, Kings Mtn. NC Sons: Philip A. Lawson, Jr. and wife Debra, Kings Mtn. NC Harvey Dean Lawson, Kings Mtn. NC Daughters: Linda L. Ellis and Benjamin, Kings Mtn. NC Shirley L. Kirby and husband Howard, Gaffney, SC Rita L. Roberts and husband Kenneth, Kings Mtn. NC Brothers: Clyde T. Lawson, Kings Mtn. NC Johnny Lawson, Kings Mtn. NC Bill Lawson, Granite Falls, NC Sister: Bessie Martin, Kings Mtn. NC 17 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren.

VISITATION: 1:00 - 2:00 P.M. Thursday, May 31, 2012 prior to the service at Harris Funeral Home, Kings Mountain, NC

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, North Carolina
