- Ralph Homer Davenport, age 83, resident of Dallas, died December 10, 2010 at the Robin Johnson Hospice House, Dallas, NC after a prolonged illness. He was born on April 24, 1927 in Clay Co. to the late C. B. Davenport and Mattie Maney Davenport. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

He was retired from Rhyne?s Florist. He also worked in farming and textiles. He was a faithful member and deacon of Faith Freewill Baptist Church, Belmont, NC. He played guitar at church and surrounding nursing homes.

Sons: Jerry Davenport, Kings Mtn. NC Larry Davenport and wife Mary Lou, Cherryville, NC
Grandchildren: Landa Davenport, Cherryville, NC; Joel Davenport, Raleigh, NC Lorne Davenport, Gastonia, NC.

VISITATION: 11:30-12:30 Tuesday, December 14, 2010 prior to the service at Harris Funeral Home.

INTERMENT: Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia, North Carolina
