Ray Butler Herndon

DATELINE:  KINGS MOUNTAIN, NORTH CAROLINA Ray Butler Herndon Ray Butler Herndon, 82, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on October 26, 2022 at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, NC. He was born in Cleveland County, NC, son of the late William Frank and Evelyn Dixon Herndon and was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Herndon, brother, Roy Herndon, a grandson, Tyler Herndon, and a great granddaughter, Evelyn Simpson. Ray was a lifelong member of Bethlehem Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and several committees including, the Finance, Building and Grounds, and Pastor Search Committees. He worked for 20 years as a foreman at Fiber Industries and for 6 years at Freightliner. Ray loved spending time raising cattle and was an avid Carolina basketball fan. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. His kindness, love, and guidance will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
