Rev. Norman Franklin Brown

REV. NORMAN FRANKLIN BROWN - Rev. Norman Franklin Brown, age 90, a resident of 801 Southridge Dr., died May 30, 2011 at Kings Mountain Hospice House. He was born in Easley, SC to the late Jessie Bayne and Grady Pendleton Brown. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one son, Ramon Michael Brown and a brother, Jack Brown. After serving in the Army during WW II he returned home to Greenville, SC where he entered Furman University to prepare for his call to the ministry. After graduating from Furman he also graduated from Southeastern Seminary in Wake Forest, NC. Rev. Brown was ordained in 1949 at Dunean Baptist Church in Greenville, SC. and served several churches in North and South Carolina, including Bethlehem Baptist Church, Kings Mountain and Second Baptist Church in Shelby. He and Mrs. Brown retired from the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention in 1986 after serving seven years in Germany.

Grandchildren; Neil Morris and wife Nicole, Amy Reed and husband Tim, Chris Morris, all of Kings Mountain, Jeremiah Brown, and Jessica Jenkins, both of Anderson, SC Great-Grandchildren; Sydney Morris, Evey Morris, Jamie McGinnis, Carter Grace Reed and Chloe Brown
