RICHARD E. NICKERSON - Richard E. Nickerson, age 69, resident of Kings Mountain, died October 12, 2012 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center, Shelby, NC. He was born in Portland Maine, son of the late Richard William Nickerson. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Jean Brown. He had a long career as an Executive Chef and was recently employed by Carolina Crossing Restaurant in Grover, NC. Mr. Nickerson was a member of the Epicurean Club of Greater Miami and other Chef Associations over the years. He was a Vietnam War veteran serving in the United States Marines, a member of the American Legion and the VFW.

Daughter: Rebecca Lynn Hall and husband Charlie, Franklin Furnace, OH Mother: Patricia Brazzard Wallick, Bullhead City, AZ Brother: John Cunningham, Winston-Salem, NC Sister: Janet Jara, Bullhead City, AZ 3 Grandchildren: Richard, Samantha, and Jessica Many Nieces and nephews. Step-Children: Roger Alan Anderson, Thomas Craig Anderson, Teresa Hedgspeth, and Karen Hilley Many step grandchildren and step great grandchildren

FUNERAL SERVICE: Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel, Monday, October 15, 2012 2:00 P.M. Dr. Steve Taylor, officiating.

VISITATION: 12:30 - 1:30 P.M. Monday, October 15, 2012 prior to the service at Harris Funeral Home, Kings Mountain, NC other times at 1315 S. Battleground Ave, Kings Mountain, NC.

MEMORIALS: In Lieu of flowers, Cleveland County Volunteer Fire Department, 221 E. Graham Street, Shelby, NC 28150
