DATELINE: KINGS MOUNTAIN, NORTH CAROLINA Richard "Lil Rick" Woodrow Rigdon Richard Woodrow Rigdon, 69, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on September 04, 2018 at his home in Kings Mountain, NC. He was born in Greenville County, SC, to the late Woodrow Wilson Rigdon and Ruth Limbaugh Rigdon. Richard served two tours in Vietnam where he served his country as a truck driver delivering ammo to the front lines and as a tunnel rat. He was a member of the Kings Mountain VFW, the American Legion and the Gaston County U.V.A.. Richard was a co-founder of the American Legion Riders and loved riding his motorcycle. He participated in raising and maintaining the largest flying United States flag over Gastonia along with the Am Vets Post 920. Richard worked tirelessly for the benefit of veterans and local children, participating in numerous motorcycle rides and fundraisers. His loved ones have described Richard as "the biggest little man they have ever known". The family would like to extend an invitation to everyone to attend the services for Richard in order to honor his faithful service to our country.
