Robert Gerald Wilson

KINGS MOUNTAIN - Robert Gerald "Jerry" Wilson, 83, died Nov. 3, 2010, at Kings Mountain Hospital.
Born in Robeson County, a son of the late Haskel and Selma Yarboro Wilson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Campbell. A member of First Baptist Church, he has served as a deacon, a member of the senior and adult choirs and was very active in visitations. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, known to the grandchildren as "Pappy". He loved his church and every member and loved to witness to others. He served in the Army during the Korean War and retired after 30 years with Fiber Industries.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sue Sipes Wilson; sons, Rob Wilson, of Blythewood, S.C., Alan Wilson, of Clover, S.C.; daughters, Cathy W. Alexander and her husband, Pastor Gene Alexander, of Rockingham, Rita W. Blanton and her husband Dean, of Shelby, Rhonda W. Withers of Wytheville, Va.; sisters, Peggy Wilson Patterson, of Greensboro and Jackie Wilson Wright, of Jesup, Ga.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Saturday at Harris Funeral Home
