Born in Cleveland County, son of the late Garnet Earl Smith and Vassie Mae Lewallen Smith. He was a member of New Life Family Worship Center, Kings Mountain and a heavy equipment operator and he enjoyed fishing, loved NASCAR and outdoor activities.
