Rosemary (Rosie) "Tootie" (Jones) Flynt

DATELINE:  KINGS MOUNTAIN, NORTH CAROLINA ROSEMARY (ROSIE) JONES FLYNT “TOOTIE”

Rosemary Flynt of Kings Mountain, NC died peacefully Sunday, February 16, 2025, at the age of 92. She was born on September 2,1932, in Whiteville NC. Daughter of the late Paul Westphal Jones and Elizabeth Moore Jones. She was preceded in death by her husband Lyon Amador Flynt of Mineral Springs, NC and her beloved brother Frank Russell Jones of Monroe, NC both d.2012 She is survived by her daughters Mary Butler (Linwood) Rock Hill, SC, Tere Bianchi (Jim), Karen Davis (Eric d.2017), Carol Lynn Flynt, all of Kings Mountain, NC and Dona Martell (Larry) Belmont, NC, 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Flynt graduated from Whiteville High School in Whiteville, NC. She met her husband of 56 years while “hanging out" on Lake Wylie, SC. She was involved in Cursillo, a ministry of study and life application of Christianity in the Catholic church. She opened her home to provide a place for unwed mothers to live until their child was born. Her love for reading was like no other. She loved God and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. There are no words that can truly express the family’s gratitude to White Oak Manor, Kings Mountain, especially to the staff of The Cove and 200 hall, who cared for her as their own family.

A memorial service will be held at Harris Funeral Home, 108 S. Piedmont Ave. Kings Mountain, NC 28086, at 2pm on Friday, March 7th, 2025.

The family will greet guests immediately following the service at the funeral home. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be mailed to the Foundation of the Catholic Diocese of Charlotte for the Lyon Amador and Rosemary Jones Flynt Endowment Fund established in their memory, to benefit Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Monroe.
