DATELINE: GASTONIA, NORTH CAROLINA Ruby Lewis Voigt

Ruby Lewis Voigt, 96, of Gastonia, NC, passed away on September 30, 2024 at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby, NC. She was born in Rutherford County, NC, daughter of the late James Henry and Jessie Wood Lewis and was preceded in death by her husbands, Tommy Alexander and Louis A. Voigt. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, James Lewis II, Dorothy Ledford, Margaret Collins, and Peggy Costner. Ruby worked as a secretary most of her life and was a member of Myers Memorial United Methodist Church in Gastonia. She was an exceptional cook and enjoyed baking delicious cakes. Ruby loved to travel both nationally and internationally, having traveled to Europe and all over the United States. Ruby enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family. She loved them dearly and her family cherished her. She will be missed greatly by all who knew Ruby.

SURVIVORS: Children: Carol Murray, Tega Cay, SC, Tony Alexander (Norma), Wingate, NC, and Diane Stewart (William), Kings Mountain, NC Sister: Patricia King Dellinger (Wayne) Kings Mountain, NC Grandchildren: Todd Randall, Tina West, Tim Stewart (Crystal), and Travis Stewart (Tina) 8 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great-Great Grandchildren

MEMORIAL SERVICE: The family will hold a memorial service on Monday, October 7, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Myers Memorial UMC on New Hope Road, Gastonia, NC with Pastor Sally Queen officiating

VISITATION: From 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the service at the church
