Ruth Cook, 87, of Shelby, NC, took the hand of Jesus on May 16, 2023 at Carolina Caring Hospice of Newton, NC. Ruth was the daughter of the late Carl and Grace Williams of Kings Mountain, NC and is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Floyd Decker and her second husband of 3 years, Dewey Cook. Also preceding her in death is her son, John Decker, brothers, Willis Williams and Jimmy Williams, and sisters, Iva McSwain and Betty Williams. Ruth was a faithful Christian woman who displayed her faith through her love and kindness of others. Ruth was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. In her spare time, Ruth loved to sing, color read her bible, crochet and spend as much time as possible with her family.

Those left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Helen Kendrick and husband Darren and children Kensley and Katie, and Sherry Deal and husband Bryan and children Chad Wishon and Wesley Clontz, a brother Sam Williams and wife Gail and a sister, Bertha Henson. Grandchildren Chad Wishon and Annie, Barry Decker and wife Dana, Wesley Clontz, Kensley Kendrick and Kaitlen Kendrick. Great Grandchildren:Robert Clontz, Abbey Decker, Layla Decker and step great grandchildren, Jordan Richardson and Devon Richardson. Her sisters in law, Lois Williams and Trixie Williams, all of Kings Mountain, NC. Many nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Sunday, May 21, 2023 at 3:00 PM in the Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel

VISITATION: Sunday, May 21, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 2:50 PM prior to the service at Harris Funeral Home

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, NC
