- Ruth Lanier Hughes, age 84, resident of 505 Katherine Ave, Kings Mountain, NC died June 6, 2012 at Wendover Hospice. She was born in Cherokee Falls, SC, daughter of the late Luther and Gallie Ramsey Lanier. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded by her husband of 61 years, Calvin Hughes, her grandson, Bradley Stephen Bookout and her brothers, Freelon Ramsey and Jack Lanier, and daughter-in-law Judy Dellinger Hughes. She was retired from Mauney Hosiery in Kings Mountain, an active member of the Family Worship Center, Church of God where she was a Sunday School teacher. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Son: Mike Hughes, Kings Mtn. NC

Daughter: Theresa Bookout, and husband Mike, Lincolnton, NC 4

Grandchildren: Todd Hughes, Kings Mtn. NC Brian Bookout, and wife Andrea, Cherryville, NC Chris Hughes, Kings Mtn. NC Kelli Hughes, Kings Mtn. NC

5 Great-Grandchildren: Caleb Hughes, Cailyn Hughes, and Nate Bookout, Kate Bookout and Ava Hughes

FUNERAL SERVICE: Family Worship Center, Church Of God, Kings Mountain Saturday, June 9, 2012 3:30 P.M. Rev. James Allen, officiating

VISITATION: 2:00-3:30 P.M., Saturday, June 9, 2012 prior to the service In the church foyer.

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, North Carolina
