RUTH HOLCOMBE WHISNANT - Mary Ruth Holcombe Whisnant, age 73, of Kings Mountain, NC died October 2, 2013 at her home. She was born in Gaston Co. NC to the late Oscar and Clarissa Oates Holcombe. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, the late Carl O. Whisnant; brothers, Albert Lee Holcombe, and Floyd Holcombe; and great grandchild, Temperance Ries. She was a member of East Gold St. Wesleyan Church, and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
SURVIVORS: Daughters: Cynthia Carter and husband Ray, Kings Mtn. NC Teresa Whisnant, Kings Mtn. NC Alice Limberg, Kings Mtn. NC Durine Soli and husband Jim, Mt. Holly, NC Sister: Ethelyne Holcombe, Lowell, NC Special Great Granddaughter: Jaylee Mills. 13 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren.
GRAVESIDE SERVICE: Westview Gardens, Friday, October 4, 2013 2:00 P.M. Rev. Walt Windley, officiating.
VISITATION: 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Thursday evening, October 3, 2013 at Harris Funeral Home, Kings Mountain, North Carolina
